It was in mid-July that HTC announced that there would be a smaller and cheaper version of their latest top model HTC One.

In appearance (design), the two models are more or less identical. Both phones have a kind of aluminum shell with a curved back and dual speakers on the front. But as always, the details are important, and there is a significant difference. HTC One Mini namely a framework of harder plastic that runs along the sides of the phone.

This pulls down a bit on the luxurious and elegant feel which makes HTC One the one of the very tastiest Androidmobilerna of all time. But whether this is the HTC One Mini is still a hefty build, and definitely edgier than most of the mid-range segment in terms of design.

A relevant question is how HTC One Mini is different from the top model HTC One. First and foremost is the mini version of both smaller – 4.7-inch screen is replaced with a 4.3-inch – and lighter than the HTC One. Mini handset weighs only 122 grams, compared with the 143 grams as the flagship weighs.

combination of size and weight also makes the HTC One Mini feels like a hot option for those who find Androidlurarna of five inches and more is just too big.

HTC One was one of the first phones with full HD resolution. The screen on the One Mini has a slightly more modest resolution of 720 times 1280 pixels, giving a pixel density of fully acceptable 342 pixels per inch. Super LCD2 screen generally has a good brightness and color reproduction.

Tradeoffs in mini-version

quad-core Snapdragon processor, 600 systems available from HTC One is also replaced with a more modest Snapdragon 400 with two cores of the HTC One Mini. The same applies to the frame memory: 2GB has been slimmed down to 1 gigabyte. One Mini still feels relatively fast, and HTC’s Sense interface, 5 runs smoothly.

How good HTC One Mini stacks up against the competition in terms of hardware (such as CPU, GPU and camera) is too early to say before we tested the phone in more detail.

Battery life is a question mark

HTC One Mini feels like saying that a top notch contender among headphones that are not top models. But there are two things that make me a little puzzled. The first is price. More than 4000 crowns is no minimum price in my book, and can be compared with that of just over 3,000 dollars for rival Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

My second reflection regards battery life. In our test last spring landed HTC One at a battery life of three hours and 40 minutes, which is the lows from the spring all the top models.
