Industry analyst Wilson Miao with Trend Force in Taipei claims That the upcoming HTC M8 (the replacement for last year’s HTC One) will feature “separate camera lenses for low and highlighting.” Previous HTC M8 rumors suggested That the new 2014 flagship device would be equipped with an updated Ultra Pixel camera sensor, Which made its debut on the HTC One in 2013. We do not know how the separate camera lenses on the HTC M8 would work and what effect They wouldhave on the image quality of the phone.
Other HTC M8 rumors show HTC M8 specifications to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 800 processor, 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, Ultra Pixel rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi802.11a/b/g / n / ac, KitKat (most likely the same 4.4.2 building being prepped for HTC’s One series phones) and Sense 6.0.
The leaked images we have seen of the HTC M8 did not show any external Features That resemble separate or interchangeable lenses, but we know HTC has a history of using decoy phones with alternate designs During testing of its flagship devices. It’s hard to say if separate camera lenses for different lighting conditions will be the distinguishing factor between HTC’s and Samsung’s 2014 flagship phones, but we like the notion That HTC is still thinking of new hardware innovation to set itself apart from the competition.
