note Taiwanese mobile giant HTC has its first quarterly loss ever for the third quarter. The loss amounts to the equivalent of 100 million U.S. dollars, 2.97 billion Taiwan dollars, which is more than the expected loss of $ 1.8 billion, according to an analyst survey by Thomson Reuters. The share of the global smartphone market has fallen from 9.1 percent in 2011 to 2.6 per cent last quarter, according to Gartner.
