Nokia and HTC have resolved all pending patent litigation between them, and entered into patent and technology cooperation.
HTC will make payments to Nokia and collaboration will include HTC’s LTE patent portfolio, which will strengthen our legal offering. The companies will also explore future opportunities for technology collaborations.
Paul Melin, chief intellectual property officer at Nokia, saying that Nokia is very pleased to have reached a settlement agreement and a cooperation agreement with HTC, which is a long-standing licensee of Nokia’s so-called Standards essential patents. And to an agreement that this will give them the opportunity to focus on further licensing opportunities.
